The Tinsley Towers were demolished in a controlled explosion in the early hours of Sunday, 24th August 2008 in front of thousands of people from South Yorkshire. I have just joined the Friends of Firbeck Hall which is a voluntary group dedicated to encouraging the sympathetic restoration of this beautiful 16th Century building in Firbeck, Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Here are some images from my trek up England’s third highest mountain – Helvellyn 3118ft via Striding Edge. The walk lasted 6 hours, and was very hard going but enjoyable. There were quite a few places where if you slipped, it could have been fatal! Striding Edge was pretty scary which is a narrow ridge with about 600ft drop either side! Take a look. Read more

This is Tracey and Paul’s wedding at my local church which is the picturesue village of Laughton en le Morthern, Rotherham. The reception was held at the beautiful Thoresby Hall over the border in Nottinghamshire.
